International Bath Day
Today is a gentle reminder to slow down and soak in a little self-care, literally.
One of our Freo Wellbeing Team-members calls it their favourite ritual for unwinding: a warm bath, soft lighting, and a moment of quiet to reset body and mind.
Baths can soothe sore muscles, calm the nervous system, and create space for reflection in an often busy world. Whether it’s a full spa moment or a simple soak, let this be your invitation to pause, breathe, and treat yourself with care.
So why not run the water, light a candle, and take a little time just for you today?

International Picnic Day
At Freo Wellbeing, we believe International Picnic Day is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and nourish both body and soul.
Today is the perfect day to pack your favourite healthy snacks, get some fresh air and remind yourself of the balance and wellness you need to thrive: Go to your favourite spot and spread a blanket under a tree, by a swimming lake or on a grassy hillside. Whether in the company of loved ones or in peaceful solitude, step outside, breathe deeply, and embrace the simple joys of life by savoring the warmth of the sun, the beauty of nature, and the quiet magic that surrounds us.
!! Happy International Picnic Day !!

Summer Solstice
It is Midsummer!
The Summer Solstice is a beautiful reminder of the balance between light and darkness, a moment when the sun shines its brightest and invites us to reflect on our own inner light.
With the longest day of the year, it’s the perfect time to embrace the beauty around you, share laughter with loved ones, and let the magic of midsummer remind you of the light that shines within.
We at Freo Wellbeing wish you a season overflowing with love, growth, and endless possibilities!

National Writing Day
National Writing Day is a lovely reminder of the power of putting pen to paper: whether it’s to clear your mind, tell a story, or simply let your thoughts breathe. At Freo Wellbeing, we believe writing is a gentle yet powerful way to support your mental health, express your creativity, and connect more deeply with yourself and the world around you.
It doesn’t have to be perfect or polished, just honest. A journal entry, a few quiet thoughts, or even a messy poem can do wonders.
So today, take a moment to write: your voice matters, and your words are enough.
Want to share your story or words with us? Write us: activitymanager@freowellbeing.com

Create Week
Today we are celebrating Create Week [1–7 July 2025]
Creation and creativity, whether it’s painting, dancing, writing, crafting, or simply making something with your hands, is more than a talent. It’s a way of connecting to yourself and the world around you.
Creative expression can calm the mind, lift the spirit, and give shape to emotions we don’t always know how to say out loud. It’s not about perfection, it’s about play, presence, and giving yourself permission to explore.
This week is a reminder that creativity belongs to all of us.
It’s a powerful tool for joy, healing, and self-discovery. Have a look online to see if there are any interesting workshops you can join or find out what's going on in your community!

World Kiss Day
Give a kiss to your loved one(s) at World Kiss Day!!
Whether it’s a kiss on the cheek, a kiss goodbye, or a kiss shared with someone special, these little moments of closeness release feel-good hormones, lower stress, and remind us we’re not alone. It’s not just about romance, it’s about affection, warmth, and being present with the people who matter.
At Freo Wellbeing, we believe that connection is an essential part of being human. Those quiet, heartfelt moments remind us that we are not alone. What better day, then, to honour that than by celebrating the power of simple gestures that make us feel safe, seen and loved?

World Chocolate Day
At Freo Wellbeing, we believe that joy is an essential part of health, and that balance is key. And let's be honest: sometimes, joy looks a lot like chocolate! So, World Chocolate Day is our reminder that self-care should be enjoyable: slow down, savour something sweet and celebrate life's little indulgences.
(Pssst: Dark chocolate, the wellness hero of the dessert world, is known to boost mood, lower stress levels and support heart health. So, if you needed an excuse to treat yourself afterall, here it is!)
And don't forget to look for Fairtrade chocolate - that way you can be sure you're helping farmers get a fair wage, supporting communities, and encouraging sustainable practices.

Plastic-Free-July
At Freo Wellbeing, we’re taking a moment today to shine a light on Plastic Free July, a global initiative that invites us all to reflect on our daily choices and reduce single-use plastics where we can.
We encourage you to explore what’s happening online or in your local community throughout the month.
Whether it’s choosing a reusable alternative, discovering new ways to reduce waste, or supporting sustainable options, every small action has the power to create real change. By being intentional in our choices and raising awareness, we can help protect the planet and ensure a cleaner, healthier world for future generations. Let’s take action, however small, and create lasting positive change together!

World Ice Cream Day
Today is all about simple pleasures and little joys, like your favourite scoop on a sunny afternoon.
Whether it’s classic vanilla, something bold and fruity, or a plant-based treat, we hope you take a moment to savour something sweet.
Because sometimes, happiness really is just one spoonful away. And if you’re out and about, why not invite a friend or loved one to join you? A quick catch-up over a cold treat is a simple, feel-good way to enjoy the day.

World Self-Care Day
We’re celebrating World Self-Care Day a day earlier, because tomorrow is our birthday!
But we didn’t want to miss the chance to honour this meaningful day, so here’s to a joyful and peaceful Self-Care Day from all of us at Freo Wellbeing.
We want to remind you that self-care is not a luxury, but a vital part of maintaining your overall well-being. With so much going on in our busy lives, it's easy to forget how important it is to pause and take care of ourselves. Whether it's a moment of quiet reflection, going for a walk in nature or simply breathing deeply, small acts of self-care can have a huge impact. Because when you feel your best, you can approach everything else in your life with more energy and joy.
So, if you can, take some time today (or tomorrow) to recharge and reconnect with yourself. Prioritise your well-being by embracing what truly nourishes your mind, body and spirit.

FREO ANNIVERSARY
It's anniversary time!
Today’s a special day for us at Freo Wellbeing: we’re celebrating our own birthday!
This month is filled with beautiful, connective moments, and we’re so grateful for the friendships, support, and joy that have brought us to this milestone. We couldn’t have done it without the amazing community we’ve built together!
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Your support means the world to us.
Here’s to another year of growth, connection, and spreading positivity!

International Day of Friendship
At Freo Wellbeing, we’re celebrating International Day of Friendship today!
This month is full of special days that remind us of the beauty in connecting with others. Friendships are one of life’s greatest treasures, bringing laughter, support, and a sense of belonging.
So, take a moment to appreciate the friends who make your life brighter. Whether it’s sharing a smile or a deep conversation, these moments are what truly nourish our hearts.
Here's to the power of friendship and the joy it brings to our lives!

National Sunflower Day
National Sunflower Day is celebrated on the first Saturday in August, and is a quiet celebration of one of the UK’s most cheerful and generous flowers. More than just beautiful, sunflowers play an important role in supporting wildlife. Their bright blooms attract bees and other pollinators, making them a small but powerful part of a healthy ecosystem.
Sunflowers also offer something for our own well-being. Their seeds are packed with nutrients like vitamin E, magnesium, and healthy fats, supporting heart health, brain function, and energy levels. Including sunflower seeds in your meals can be a simple and natural way to nourish your body.
And perhaps most meaningfully to our Freo Wellbeing community, sunflowers remind us to keep turning toward the light, even in darker times. However small that light may be, the act of looking for it is itself a form of hope.
Like the sunflower, we grow best when we keep facing what helps us heal.
Happy Sunflower Day, everyone!

Cycle To Work Day
It’s Cycle to Work Day today, and we at Freo Wellbeing are proud to support a simple change that can bring real benefits. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just giving it a go, even a short ride can help you start the day feeling more energised, clear-headed, and connected. It is also a natural boost for your mental well-being.
Turning the journey into something social can make it more enjoyable and easier to stick with. You might begin your route with a friend, even if you head in different directions?
However far you go, today is a good day to make that first step (or pedal), and reminding ourselves that fresh air, movement, and a break from the usual commute can make a big difference in how you feel.

International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples
Today is the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, and we at Freo Wellbeing take this moment to recognise and honour the cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous communities around the world.
This day is a reminder of the resilience and wisdom held within Indigenous traditions, and of the need to listen, learn, and stand in solidarity. Indigenous peoples continue to play a vital role in protecting the planet, preserving languages, and shaping more inclusive futures, often in the face of ongoing challenges and injustices.
Today, we encourage reflection on the voices and rights of Indigenous peoples, and the responsibilities we all share in building a more just and equitable world.

World Lion Day
Lions don’t rush. They rest, they observe, and when the time is right—they rise.
On World Lion Day, we’re reminded that strength isn’t just about action. It’s also about patience, presence, and knowing when to pause. In a world that moves fast, there’s courage in slowing down and checking in with yourself.
Whether you’re navigating a challenge or just trying to stay balanced, take today as a moment to channel your inner lion: steady, grounded, and brave in your own way.
And while we reflect on our own well-being, we also recognise the need to protect the lions themselves. With populations under threat, these incredible animals need our voice and support more than ever. Check out if there’s something happening in your community today and see how you can support lion conservation, from awareness events to wildlife charities.

Never Give Up Day
We are always here for you if you need us!
Never Give Up Day is a reminder that resilience is not about never facing challenges, but about how we respond to them. Life can bring moments of hardship, and mental health struggles are a part of that journey for many. It's important to remember that it's okay to not be okay sometimes, and reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
It is also about acknowledging when we need help, taking the time to heal, and finding the courage to keep going, even if it’s just one small step at a time. Every time that you face challenges, even if you don't feel like you’re moving forward, you are building strength and resilience in ways that aren’t always visible but are incredibly important.
Today, let’s celebrate the progress we make, no matter how small, and remember that giving up doesn’t always mean stopping. Sometimes, it means giving yourself permission to rest, to ask for support, and to trust that recovery and growth are ongoing processes.

National Potato Day
Today we celebrate the most humble hero of the kitchen: mashed, roasted, baked, fried, or turned into crispy little works of art (hello, hash browns), potatoes never let us down.
Whether you’re sharing a homemade dish with friends, joining a community meal, or just trying a new recipe at home, today is about simple joy and good food.
However you enjoy it, let it be about slowing down, sharing a meal, and finding joy in the little things.
Would you like to share your favourite recipe with us? Get in touch! :)

Lemon Juice Day
It’s National Lemon Juice Day, a quiet nod to one of the simplest ways to add a little brightness to everyday life.
Whether it’s a splash in a glass of water, a drizzle over a fresh meal, or the secret ingredient in your favourite cake, lemon juice brings a natural lift—fresh, light, and full of flavour. It’s a reminder that even small things can make a difference.
Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, which supports your immune system, boosts skin health, and can help to fight fatigue. Its natural acidity can aid digestion and give your body a refreshing reset. Even the scent of lemon has been linked to reduced stress and improved mood, proof that a little sour can do a lot of good.
Why not take today as a reason to try a new recipe, share a homemade lemonade with a friend, or just enjoy something simple and refreshing? Sometimes, all it takes is a little citrus to brighten the day :).

Grief Awareness Day
On this day, we recognize the importance of creating space for grief, whether through personal reflection, reaching out for support, or simply allowing ourselves to feel. Grief may change over time, but the process of healing is ongoing and often requires patience, compassion, and understanding from ourselves and those around us.
Grief Awareness Day is a time to pause and acknowledge the depth of loss and the journey through grief that many experience. Grief is a deeply personal process, and it manifests differently for each person. It is not linear, nor does it have a timeline. It is an experience that can feel isolating, but it is important to remember that you are not alone in it.
Let today be a reminder that it’s okay to not have all the answers, to grieve in your own way, and to seek help when needed. The journey may feel overwhelming at times, but healing is possible, and support is available. Take this moment to reach out, listen, and share in the quiet understanding that grief is a natural part of life - and so is the process of healing.
!! If there's something you'd like to talk about, don't hesitate to reach out to us !!

World Letter Day
Do you even know the handwriting styles of your loved ones?
Today, we want to remind you that it can be easy to show someone you care, say thank you, or share a memory. Why not take today as an opportunity to take a short walk to your nearest bookshop or convenience store and browse their selection of beautiful paper? Choose your favourite, write a few words to your loved ones, and enjoy the warm, special feeling you get when you send something handwritten.
In a world full of texts and emails, a letter feels undeniably and uniquely personal.

World Sexual Health Day
It's World Sexual Health Day today, and we want to embrace the importance of taking care of your sexual health, as well as fighting the stigma surrounding it.
Sexual health involves more than just protection and prevention; it's also about feeling safe, informed, respected and confident in your choices. Whether it's getting tested, having open conversations, learning about consent or simply checking in with yourself, all of these things matter.
So why not use this opportunity to learn something new, book that check-up, or talk openly with someone you trust?

World Suicide Prevention Day
Reaching out takes courage: whether it’s to a friend, a therapist, a support line, or a trusted space in your community. And just as important, let’s stay mindful of those around us. A small check-in can make a big difference.
Today, we stand with all those who have lost someone to suicide and with all those who are struggling with their own mental health. No one should ever feel alone in what they're going through. We must keep talking openly, honestly and without judgment about mental health.
If you're struggling, always remember that help is available. Here at Freo Wellbeing, we're proud to offer support that's not only accessible but also kind and stigma-free. So, please do get in touch – we're always here for you!

Positive Thinking Day
Today is Positive Thinking Day, an opportunity to change our mindset, embrace optimism and remind ourselves that our thoughts are powerful. It's not about denying the imperfections in our lives, but rather about choosing to recognise opportunities, find positives, and believe in a brighter future.
Positive thinking is more than just a “feel-good” idea, it's a tool. It can help us to face challenges, boost our resilience and even improve our mental and physical wellbeing.
So today, let's take a moment to appreciate the good things we might otherwise take for granted. Let's appreciate the small victories, the little joys and the strength we all possess, even on difficult days

Youth Mental Health Day
Your mind matters. Your voice matters. You matter.
Growing up isn’t easy. Today is Youth Mental Health Day, reminding us that it's okay not to have everything figured out, to feel overwhelmed, or to ask for help. If you're struggling with stress, anxiety, your identity, school, friendships, or life in general, know that your feelings are valid. Remember that your mental health matters!
All around the world, young people are coming forward to share their stories, raise awareness and create environments where mental health issues can be discussed openly and without shame. Initiatives in the UK such as stem4's Youth Mental Health Day and the Mental Health Foundation's community-focused efforts highlight the importance of connection and support.
So today, take a moment for yourself or reach out to someone you trust. Share a thought, a feeling, or even a smile. If you're feeling good, be the one to check in on someone else. You never know how much it might mean to them. We believe in your strength, your story and your future.
If you're struggling, always remember that help is available. Here at Freo Wellbeing, we're proud to offer support that's not only accessible but also kind and stigma-free. So, please do get in touch – we're always here for you!

International Day of Sign Languages
Today, we celebrate the richness and diversity of sign languages around the world. This year's theme, 'Sign up for Sign Language Rights', encourages us all to recognise and promote the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of the deaf community. The British Deaf Association (BDA) continues to advocate for the protection, promotion and preservation of British Sign Language (BSL).
Today, we encourage everyone to learn a few signs, engage with deaf communities and campaign for sign languages to be recognised in all areas of society. By doing so, we contribute to a more inclusive world where everyone can communicate, learn and thrive.

World Dream Day
Today is World Dream Day, a celebration of the hopes, visions, and wild ideas that live inside each of us. Dreams are where possibility begins, where we imagine new futures, spark creativity, and dare to believe in something more.
We can create a world where dreaming is not just allowed, but encouraged! When we dare to dream, we begin to build something better, for ourselves and for each other.
Take a moment to reflect: what's one dream you've been carrying in your heart?
Write it down and see what happens!
Say it out loud and feel the excitement!
Share it with someone and watch the magic unfold!
Nurture it and watch it thrive!

World Heart Day
Take care of your heart, and the hearts you love.
Today is World Heart Day, offering a gentle reminder to pause and consider the physical and emotional health of your heart. It's not just about avoiding illness; it's also about adopting habits that promote your own well-being and that of your loved ones.
Eat something nourishing. Move your body. Get some rest. Check in with someone who matters to you. The little things we do for ourselves and each other truly make a difference.
Your heart works hard for you every single day. Show it some kindness. And while you're at it, remind the people you love to do the same.

Black History Month
This month is dedicated to recognising the enduring legacy, struggles and contributions of Black people throughout history. It is a challenge to historical erasure, a fostering of understanding and an honouring of the resilience and achievements of Black communities worldwide.
Get engaged!
We are using today, the first day of the month, to emphasise the importance of this month, and we hope to encourage you to explore the events taking place online and in your local community. Through education, reflection and celebration, it reminds us of the ongoing work required to achieve racial equity and justice. There are countless ways to engage and be inspired this month, whether it's a talk, a film screening or a cultural event.

International Week of Happiness at Work
It's the International Week of Happiness at Work, running from 6 to 10 October 2025. We have chosen today, the first day of the week, to draw attention to this topic. This global initiative, launched in 2017, promotes happiness as a key factor in workplace productivity and wellbeing. In the UK, organisations participate with activities like mindfulness sessions, wellness workshops, and team-building events to inspire a more positive and engaging work culture.
As you approach this week, consider reflecting on your own work-life balance and the choices you've made.
Perhaps it's an opportunity to explore new activities, engage with local events, or initiate conversations that inspire positive change in your professional environment. Remember, small steps can lead to meaningful transformations in both your personal and professional life.

World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day, held every year on October 10, is a gentle reminder to look after our own well-being and support each other in creating a kinder, more compassionate world. It's not just about facing challenges, it's about celebrating the strength in asking for help, the courage in starting conversations, and the joy found in connection and care. Today's the perfect chance to take a moment to check in with yourself and your loved ones, and find ways to nurture your mental health in your day-to-day life.
Check out what's going on in your community or online - you might find something inspiring that boosts your peace of mind and optimism.

OCD Awareness Week
If you're someone with OCD, you might have experienced unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviours or mental rituals (compulsions). These are things that you feel compelled to do.
OCD Awareness Week is from 12th to 18th October and we've picked today to shine a spotlight on how crucial it is to understand and support the people living with this condition. It's a time to break down myths, share stories, and foster kindness and empathy. So, whether you're going to a local event or just chatting on the internet, this week is a great time to get together, learn new things and lend a helping hand to those who need it.
Let's all work together to make our community a kinder and more informed one.

World Values Day
World Values Day 2025 invites us to celebrate empathy and kindness as core values that shape our lives and communities. Reflecting on your own values can bring clarity and purpose to your life, guiding your decisions and daily actions in a way that feels authentic and fulfilling. These personal values are vital for our mental and emotional wellbeing, helping us to stay grounded through life's ups and downs.
Why not take a moment today to reflect on your own values and how you can live them more fully in your everyday life?
Small shifts in awareness can lead to meaningful changes, bringing you closer to what truly matters to yourself.

World Menopause Day
World Menopause Day is all about raising awareness about the menopause and helping those going through this natural journey feel their best.
Menopause can bring a range of physical and emotional changes, and it's so important to understand the options for managing symptoms. This year's theme, "Menopause Hormone Therapy," is all about helping people understand hormone treatment and how it can help with common symptoms like hot flashes, mood changes, and sleep disturbances. We really hope that by shining a light on this topic today, we can encourage open, informed discussions and empower individuals to seek the care and support they deserve. By doing this, we can promote better health outcomes during this significant stage of life.

International Artists' Day
International Artists Day celebrates creativity, passion, and expression, and highlights how important art is for mental health. Art isn’t just found in galleries or shows it’s everywhere around us if we take a moment to notice. From the patterns in nature to the small details of daily life, art helps us understand our feelings, heal, and connect with others. Engaging with art, whether by creating or simply appreciating it, can bring comfort and a sense of peace.
It allows us to express what words sometimes cannot and offers a way to explore our inner world.
Today, we celebrate not only artists but the power of art to inspire and support everyone.

Halloween
Happy Halloween!
Today’s the perfect time to let your imagination run free, because there's magic in the air.
Even if it's just a subtle nod to the season's mysterious charm, Halloween is the perfect time to get creative and enjoy the world around us, from the thoughtfully crafted costumes to the enchanting sight of candlelight in carved pumpkins. Embrace the spirit of the day and let it fill your heart with joy!
Why not spend the evening enjoying a favourite film, taking a peaceful walk under the autumn skies, or simply treating yourself to something sweet? Whatever you do, remember that it's always refreshing to see the world through a different lens, even if only for one night!

Stress Awareness Day
We all know how it is: Stress in daily life can feel like a heavy weight on our shoulders, especially when we feel overwhelmed, under pressure, or unable to meet demands. Whether it's fWannarom work, relationships, finances, or even day-to-day responsibilities, it's so hard to keep going. It can show up as worry, irritability, tension in the body, trouble sleeping, or feeling like there's never enough time. We all know that a little bit of stress can sometimes help motivate us, but too much of it for too long can affect our health and wellbeing. Learning to recognise and manage stress is a really important part of living a balanced, healthy life.
We really want to emphasise Stress Awareness Day because it's so important to shine a light on the realities of stress and its effects on our mental and physical wellbeing. Today is a chance to understand stress better, to see how it affects us and how we can deal with it.
Do you want to know more about how to deal with stress? Check out our Free Stress Management workshop: https://mailchi.mp/65a98395510b/iafa5dtdz3

Anti-Bullying Week
Anti-Bullying Week 2025 takes place from November 10th to 14th, and we’re using this first day to raise awareness and encourage reflection. Bullying can have a deep and lasting impact on mental health and self-worth, which is why it’s so important to understand what it looks like and how we can help prevent it. That’s why we encourage you to take a moment to explore resources online, learn more, and think about ways you can make a difference in your own environment.
Wanna talk about something? Contact us! We’re here to listen and support you whenever you need. :)

World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day is a celebration of compassion, connection and the simple power of being kind. The wonderful thing about kindness is that it doesn't have to be grand or complicated. The best place to start is right where you are! Smile at a neighbour, hold the door open for someone, check in on a friend, or simply speak with patience and care. These small, everyday actions not only brighten someone else's day, they also support your own mental wellbeing. Kindness can reduce stress, build trust, and foster a sense of belonging. Even the simplest gestures can have a powerful impact on others and ourselves.
Starting today, why not challenge yourself to show intentional kindness to one stranger every day and see how it gradually lifts your own happiness and sense of connection.

National Homemade Bread Day
It’s National Homemade Bread Day, the perfect reason to get your hands covered in flour and fill your home with that irresistible fresh-baked smell!
Whether you’re a pro at kneading or just hoping your loaf doesn’t turn into a brick, today’s about enjoying the fun (and tasty) side of baking. So dive in, don’t worry about the mess, and remember: a misshapen loaf still tastes delicious. After all, a little love and yeast go a long way!
Why not invite your friends over and share some salty butter on warm bread straight from the oven? And if you have a favourite recipe, we’d love to hear about it! Feel free to share it with us :).

World Philosophy Day
World Philosophy Day is all about taking a moment to wonder: about life, the world, and your place in it.
You don’t need to dive into big academic texts; just ask yourself something meaningful like, “What really matters to me?” or something light-hearted like, “If I could pause time, what would I do first?”
It’s a day to slow down and get curious, to reflect on your choices, your values, or even just the weirdness of everyday life.
Whether you journal, chat with a friend, or simply take a thoughtful walk, today is about enjoying the fun and freedom of thinking a little deeper. And remember, no one has all the answers. Half the joy is in asking the questions.

International Aura Awareness Day
International Aura Awareness Day is on the fourth Saturday of November every year. It was set up in 2002 to share more about the idea of auras, which are described as subtle energy fields that are believed to surround all living beings. Auras are thought to show a person's physical, emotional and spiritual state, with different colours representing different aspects of well-being.
Although there is little scientific evidence, practices such as meditation, energy healing and mindfulness are intended to balance and strengthen one's personal aura.
That's why today, we're going to focus on fostering self-awareness and inviting you to discover ways to nurture your overall mental and emotional wellbeing. Taking time to connect with yourself in this way can be a rewarding experience and can brings peace, clarity and renewed energy to your daily life.

Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving may not be widely celebrated in the UK, but we can still embrace its spirit of gratitude and togetherness. Traditionally held on the fourth Thursday of November in the US, Thanksgiving marks a time to give thanks for the harvest and blessings of the past year.
It’s a wonderful reminder to pause, appreciate what we have, and share kindness with those around us. Why not invite your friends and loved ones over for a shared meal, whether big or small, and enjoy the simple joy of being together? This season, let’s celebrate gratitude in our own way and spread a little extra kindness.

National Illustration Day
National Illustration Day is here!
It's time to celebrate the amazing art of bringing ideas to life through drawings, sketches and visual storytelling in every line and stroke, and the joy it brings to our everyday lives. Why not take a moment to admire your favourite illustrators, try your hand at a quick sketch, or share an image that inspires you?
If you're in the UK this November, here are some events and exhibitions showcasing the world of illustration:
Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration (London): Opening in 2025, this centre will be the UK's first national museum dedicated to illustration. It will house Sir Quentin Blake’s archive of 40,000 works and feature exhibitions from renowned illustrators like Raymond Briggs and Jo Brocklehurst.
London International Animation Festival (28 Nov – 7 Dec): Held at the Barbican Centre, this festival celebrates animated storytelling with screenings, workshops, and talks from leading animators.
Pictoplasma London (6 Nov): A one-day conference at the Royal College of Art focusing on character design and illustration, featuring artist talks and animation screening
Too far away? Why not go and check out what's happening in your local community, or see if you can take part in an online session.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities encourages us to think critically about the world we live in:
Is it accessible?
Is it inclusive?
How can we make it better?
We must reflect on these questions and take meaningful action to build a society where everyone has the chance to thrive and be equally valued. For us, this day honours the significant contributions people with disabilities make across all areas of life, while also highlighting the ongoing work required to achieve true equality and inclusion.
It serves as a reminder that genuine inclusion means designing communities, workplaces, and services that welcome and support everyone.
There are many ways to volunteer in your community. Why not find one today that promotes inclusion and accessibility?

Grief Awareness Week
We’ve chosen today to raise awareness for Grief Awareness Week, which runs from December 2nd to 8th.
This week is dedicated to recognising the many ways grief can affect us and the importance of making space for those experiences.
Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it can show up in unexpected ways: emotionally, physically, and mentally. Remember that support and understanding can make a big difference.
If you're going through a tough time, or helping someone who is, please know that you're always welcome to reach out to us. We're here for you!

Postal Workers Day
Postal Workers Day in the UK is the perfect time to send a big, heartfelt thank you to all the amazing people who keep our letters and parcels moving day after day! Rain or shine, they’re the friendly faces making sure we stay connected with loved ones and receive those special deliveries that brighten our days. Their dedication and hard work keep our communities buzzing and our spirits lifted. So here’s to our fantastic postal workers: today we celebrate you and the important role you play in bringing us all a little closer!

Human Rights Day
Human Rights Day serves as a solemn reminder that every individual is entitled to fundamental freedoms and rights, regardless of their background or circumstances. It encourages us to reflect deeply on the principles of dignity, justice and equality on which these rights are based. Although progress has been made, the day also emphasises our ongoing collective responsibility to uphold and protect human rights worldwide. Human Rights Day is a time to renew our commitment to fairness and respect, and to ensure that everyone can live free from discrimination, oppression and injustice.

National Hot Chocolate Day
Let the warmth of your drink melt away the chill and noise of the outside world.
Sometimes, taking a quiet moment to enjoy a hot chocolate is the gentlest form of self-care. So why not make your perfect cup of hot chocolate today?
Our favourite way: more is more! Start with rich, creamy cocoa. Pile on the whipped cream. Then add a mountain of rainbow sprinkles. Add a flake or two for good measure.
Snuggle up in your warmest blanket, press play on your favourite rom-com, and let the chocolatey goodness melt away the chill outside and the noise inside. Sometimes, a quiet moment with a hot chocolate is the gentlest form of self-care. So today's the day to make your perfect cup of hot chocolate magic!
Happy Hot Chocolate Day Everyone :)

Thats why we'd like to help to spread the word about Penguins today: Find out what you can do in your community or online to help penguins or to take action against global warming.
Fun fact about these wonderful creatures: Penguins are in a sort of long-distance relationship because they're rarely in the same place at the same time. Every year, the male waits at the nest for his mate. If she's died or simply returned to the nest too late, the other one looks for a new mate. If the late partner does turn up, the new partner is often chased away and the old pair brood together.

"The Panther" (subtitled: "In Jardin des Plantes, Paris") by Rainer Maria Rilke written between 1902 and 1903 — English translation by Stanley Appelbaum
His gaze against the sweeping of the bars
has grown so weary, it can hold no more.
To him, there seem to be a thousand bars
and back behind those thousand bars no world.
The soft the supple step and sturdy pace,
that in the smallest of all circles turns,
moves like a dance of strength around a core
in which a mighty will is standing stunned.
Only at times the pupil’s curtain slides
up soundlessly — . An image enters then,
goes through the tensioned stillness of the limbs —
and in the heart ceases to be.
