Armed Forces, War Veterans and Their Families

The programme for War Veterans and the Armed Forces is designed to provide Psychological treatment and counselling assistance to soldiers, officers and their families via telephone, internet and webcam. The aim is to cut across world barriers and time zones to address the Stigma confronting this special group of individuals who desperately need these facilities. Often times, it is not readily available.

Our War Veterans are a valued group of individuals, putting their lives on the line for their nations, leaving their loved ones behind and exposing themselves to untold hardships, danger, emotional/physical pain and stress. Freo is geared to help them cope with the traumas of war and the difficulties of adjusting to civilian life, which can be incredibly hard, and to post-war ‘normal’ life. Our war veterans and armed forces personnel still have to deal with every day family life, housing issues, sicknesses amongst family and close friends, relationship break ups, children challenges, post army new careers in addition to PTSD ( Post traumatic stress syndrome).

A recent research statistic stated that 1 in 10 veterans are now in prison for violence - related offences. However, YOU are not a statistic, and that is not your story.

Freo also has services available for the families of active forces members and veterans who need support whilst their loved ones are at war, many miles from home, discharged from the forces, or have lost their homes.

Our Psychiatrists, Counsellors, Psychologists and lived experience buddy officers are sensitive to these needs and will provide the best possible assistance at all hours - 24/7.
