About Us

Freo Wellbeing is a holistic, virtual mental health and wellbeing platform. We provide access to a diverse group of multi-disciplinary specialists in the mental health care world. These include: psychiatrists, psychologists, family therapists, CBT practitioners, speech and language therapists, cancer nurse therapists, mental health nurses, occupational therapists, healthcare support workers, pharmacist, social workers, bereavement counsellors, nutritionist and lived experience specialists (army, bereavement, suicide and cancer). There are also alternative medicine practitioners, in NLP and EMDR.

We provide access to relaxing and calming activities to keep you positive, motivated, encouraged, engaged and well. These include a brain gym and yoga sessions— explore our Activities section to find out more.

The word ‘Freo’ in old English means exempt from, not in bondage, freedom, noble, joyful, and acting of one’s own will. We chose this name because we believe in freedom — mentally, physically and emotionally. Freedom to be the best “You”.

All of these are entwined, and the heart of our mission is helping you feel your healthiest, day by day.

The Founder and CEO of Freo Wellbeing, Dr. Isioma Nwokolo, is an experienced consultant psychiatrist who has worked with clients of various multicultural backgrounds and locations. Though her main focus is in General Adult Psychiatry, she has worked in various specialties and has many strings to her bow. With additional training in Healthcare Management, Marketing, Etiquette, NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) and having graduated in 1987, Dr Isi is highly qualified, able to connect quickly with clients and colleagues alike.

In 2006 the idea of virtual consulting was conceived by Dr. Isi to make the process of treatment and consulting with clients easier and more accessible. She is passionate about empowering people to take charge of their mental health and end the stigma around it. This led Dr. Isi to discussing Freo on BBC Radio 4 with Phil Hammond in 2013.

She is also a published author, writer and a mother of four.
