Drop-in Sessions:

These are one-hour sessions designed to work on personal development, coping strategies and verbal and non-verbal communication skills. The aims are to develop social cognition through dynamic group activities and workshops. Learning takes place through rehearsal, peer feedback, modelling and role play.

At all times the sessions will encourage kindness, positive feedback, and group support.

Who is it for?

Many people struggle with their self-confidence and their ability to interact with others. People on the Autistic Spectrum, or with anxiety, ADHD or other mental health issues may struggle to make friends or to cope in social situations and commonly experience difficulties in these areas:

  • Social cognition – difficulty in judging the formality of a situation and codes of conduct

  • Managing and taking turns in conversations and listening skills

If you don’t wish to commit to a regular group, these sessions may be exactly what you are looking for. Sessions are managed by SALT, with guest hosts and speakers.

Topics include: conversation skills, turn taking and listening, body language and non-verbal communication, exploring humour and managing anxiety.
